Lights & Lighthouses visible from Glassverket
During hours of darkness, a number of nearby coastal lights are visible:
- We're in the green sector of the Revlingen light - Oc 6s, 3.8 km (2 nm) away.
- We're in the white sector of the Mefjordbåen light - Oc(2) 8s, 11.6 km (6.3 nm) away.
Thanks to atmospheric refraction (aka the
fata morgana), a number of
other coastal lights may also appear on the horizon:
- We're in the red sector of the Hollenderbåen light - Oc(3) 10s, 30.3 km (16.4 nm) away. Published nominal range: 10 nm.
- We're in the red sector of the Fulehuk light - Oc R 6s, 28.7 km (15.5 nm) away. Published nominal range: 6.8 nm.
- Like everyone else, we're in the white sector of the Færder lighthouse - Fl(3) W 30s, 45.68 km (24.7 nm) away. Published nominal range: 19 nm.
By definition, an imaginary line between the
Færder and Torbjørnsskjær lighthouses defines the southern boundary of the Oslo Fjord.
